List Of Ruto’s Promises To The Coastal Region In The 4-Day Tour

President William Ruto’s four-day Coastal tour began on Friday, July 26 and will end on Monday, July 29.

Kenyans who want to relocate abroad in search of greener pastures will now be able to get passports in less than a week, President Ruto announced.

Ruto stated that the government is looking for employment opportunities abroad for Kenyans and that there are currently 400,000 job openings.

Speaking on Sunday in Mwatate, Taita Taveta county, the President stated that the government will pay for travelers’ airfare and process their travel documents within a week.

“Every week, 1,000 Kenyan youths relocate to work in other countries. Now Taita Taveta should get ready for their turn,” the President said.

Ruto’s Coastal Region Promises

1) Homes For Disaster Victims: President Ruto made a promise to Tana River flood victims of relocation and home-building projects to help return their lives to normalcy.

2) Deep Sea Fishing: He said fishermen will undergo mandatory training sponsored by the state.

3) Passports: After an uproar over ID and Passport delays, Ruto said the government is working to produce passports in a week.

4) Free Air Tickets: He also reiterated that those who secure jobs abroad will have their air tickets catered by the state.

5) Stalled Projects: Speaking in Nyali, Ruto confirmed all projects that had stopped will resume and be seen to completion.

6) Affordable Housing: After launching the first phase in Voi, wundanyi, the president said they were set to build 2,000 units.

7) Students Housing: While holding Town Hall In Mombasa, Ruto was asked if they had plans for students’ accommodation woes.

Ruto said the government was prepared to build 3,000 hostel units for students.

8) Rural Electrification: Ruto also revealed that Ksh500 million had been set aside to enhance the last-mile project in Mwatate.
