Court Bars Police From Accessing Businessman Jimi Wanjigi’s Premises
Businessman Jimi Wanjigi has obtained new orders prohibiting police from entering his premises.
This comes after police raided Wanjigi’s home in Muthaiga last Thursday, claiming to have found four teargas canisters, two Motorola gadgets, seven assorted pocket phone chargers, and one mobile phone in a vehicle parked outside Wanjigi’s gate.
This morning at Milimani Law Courts, I represented these young men of our nation who were arrested on #NaneNane wrongfully and against their rights and held in custody since then up until now.

While linking the businessman to the day’s ‘Nane Nane’ anti-government protests, police also arrested two men suspected of carrying explosives while driving into Wanjigi’s home.
He then obtained a court order on Friday prohibiting the police from arresting and detaining him.
The two men are still in remand after the court ruled on Monday that there are sufficient reasons to detain them pending investigations.
Later that afternoon, the High Court in Nairobi certified Wanjigi’s new application against the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) as urgent, barring police access to his home.
