On Monday, President William Ruto met for the first time with his newly appointed Cabinet at State House.
The Head of State and his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua, met with all Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) and Principal Secretaries (PSs) to chart a course for delivering on his ambitious promises to Kenyan citizens.
During the joint session, Ruto urged the leaders to maintain integrity and avoid corruption while carrying out their mandates.
He also urged them to be efficient and prioritize programs that will provide jobs for Kenyan youth.

“I call on those selected to serve in the cabinet to focus on the implementation of programmes and policies that will transform the lives of Kenyans and move the country forward. Let us not waste this golden opportunity,” wrote wrote on his X account.
Ruto dismissed his previous Cabinet following a public outcry over his CSs’ lack of accountability.
Despite public calls for a new team, Ruto appointed four opposition-allied members and reinstated eight members of his unpopular Cabinet.
The opposition includes ODM members John Mbadi (Treasury Ministry), Ugunja MP James Opiyo Wandayi (Energy), former Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho (Mining and Blue Economy), and former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperatives and MSMEs Development).
Ruto has repeatedly stated that a broad-based government approach will help Kenyans unite and support his transformation agenda.
