The National Environmental Complaints Committee is in charge of investigating complaints or allegations about Kenya’s environmental conditions.
They are tasked with doing this on their own initiative and in any suspected cases of environmental degradation.
It was established under Sections 31–36 of the Environmental Management and Coordination Act 1999.
Adhi was the first governor of Isiolo County. He was defeated in his re-election bid by Mohammed Kuti.
On behalf of the County Government of Isiolo, I am pleased to extend our warmest congratulations to former Governor Godana Doyo Adhi on his appointment as Chairperson of the National Environmental Complaints Committee.

Godana is the first county chief of Isiolo County. Last year, Abdi Guyo, the current governor of the northern frontier devolved unit, reached out to Godana and reconciled their political differences at a public event in Kinna.
Doyo said at the event that he accepted the governor’s olive branch as a sign of political maturity.
Doyo, a pioneer governor, told the public that Governor Guyo approached him openly and without hesitation, a call he carefully considered and eagerly accepted.
“Today, I stand tall before you to formally accept his call for this grand and public handshake for the sole purpose of unity and development”
