Gang Raids Girls’ School Killing Security Guard, Steals Deputy Principal’s Car

Police in Kirinyaga are looking for a gang that raided Kibirigwi Girls Secondary School in Ndia, killing a night guard before fleeing with the Deputy Principal’s vehicle.

Confirming the incident, Kirinyaga County Commissioner Hussein Hallosow, who visited the school with Kirinyaga Police Commander Andrew Naibei, stated that the thieves entered the school compound through the back gate.

According to the county security chief, the robbers planned the operation by tying up the three nightguards and the deputy principal before raiding their offices, where they stole an unknown amount of money and valuables.

“We have launched investigations but the guard died while being rushed to the hospital, we are telling the parents all is well and learning is going on,” he said.

Michael Kimani, one of the watchmen, claimed to have narrowly escaped death.

“I was taken to the deputy principal’s office where they tied me up and ran away with the vehicle and our phones, I’m shocked to hear that Nzioka Kiatu is no more,” Kimani said.

Mr Hallosow confirmed that no arrests have been made yet and stated that a team of detectives is pursuing the gang.

The deceased’s body was moved to Kerugoya Mortuary for postmortem.
