Passenger Bus Plunges Into The Indian Ocean At Likoni Ferry Chanel

On Sunday morning, at the Likoni Ferry crossing channel, a passenger bus fell into the Indian Ocean.

The bus’s brakes failed as it ascended the hill from the ferry on the Likoni side, according to Kenya Ferry Services (KFS). The vehicle then plunged into the Indian Ocean after going downward on its way to Ukunda.

Nine persons were hurt, according to the Kenya Red Cross, three of whom were sent to a hospital and seven of whom received on-scene treatment.

The mishap caused numerous delays and brought the popular waterway to a complete halt.

Transport operations on the crossing channel were hampered, preventing both pedestrians and vehicles from boarding boats.

The bus had been pulled from the ocean at the time of publication, and the crossing channel was gradually returning to normal.

A truck that just escaped colliding with passengers at the Likoni Ferry crossing channel before crashing into the water occurred less than twenty-four hours prior.

Although there was a significant traffic jam because the truck blocked a crucial point in the channel, no one was hurt in the incident.

The bus accident was nearly identical to one that happened three years prior when a tourist bus fell into the sea when its brakes failed.

The driver and his assistant needed to be rescued from the sinking bus, but fortunately, passengers had disembarked to make room for the vehicle to reach the ferry at the Likoni Crossing channel.
