Woman Poisons Her Kids, Kills 1 And Then Tries To Commit Suicide
A minor died in Kaseve village, Masinga, Machakos County, after being poisoned by her biological mother.
According to the police, the six-year-old was declared deceased after the event that took place in Masinga County on Monday.
According to police, the 25-year-old woman and her kid, who is nine years old, have been brought to Embu Level 5 hospital and are currently on medicine.
Soon after it happened, the Masinga police station received a report of the event.
“The 25-year-old woman reportedly poisoned her two daughters aged nine and six years at Kaseve village in Kyondoni sublocation in Kivaa location, Masinga subcounty in Machakos. She also took the poison in an attempt to end her own life,” a police source told the Star by phone hours after the incident.
According to the police, Assistant Chief Ruth Munguti of Kyondoni reported the incident to the station.
“Residents are said to have heard screams emanating from a nearby bush and responded to the distress call only to find the three lying on the ground,” the police said.

Within the Masinga subcounty, the three were taken to the Kyondoni dispensary and then taken to the Kivaa health center, where the six-year-old child was declared dead.
The mom and her other daughter were then moved to Embu Level 5 Hospital.
Police have initiated an investigation into the event.
