Media Guru Clarifies Claims From Nelson Amenya of Sanitising Adani
Alex Mwakideu, a well-known radio presenter, has denied allegations that he was paid to use his influence to portray Adani favorably on radio and social media.
Mwakideu took to social media on Monday morning to deny the allegations made by Nelson Amenya, the whistleblower behind the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA)-Adani deal.
He also encouraged Kenyans to search his social media accounts and listen to his show on Radio 47 for any evidence pointing to the same.
He went on to promise a cash reward of Ksh1 million to any Kenyan up to the task and offered no deadline for the same, giving Kenyans as much time as they would need to create the evidence.

“I don’t know who posted this but I hear anaitwa Nelson Amenya. Check all my social media pages, and listen to Radio 47,” posted Mwakideu.
“If you see anywhere that Alex Mwakideu has defended Adani in any way, I will give you Ksh1 million cash money. This offer has no timeliness, so take your time. All the best!”
This dare came just hours after Amenya claimed on social media that the radio host had been paid by a Kenyan marketing company, along with other influencers, in a calculated scheme to sanitise Adani’s image in Kenyans’ minds.
“Alex Mwakideu has been paid by (Marketing company) to paint Adani in good light on the radio airwaves. If you listen to him speak, it’s like he is defending Adani. It’s like he has been paid,” Amenya wrote.
He went on to promise Kenyans that he would provide more information on how Adani is using the strategy to change Kenyans’ attitudes toward Adani.
“I will fill you guys in on the strategy they are using in a few even on MSM,” Amenya claimed
Mwakideu, however, is not the only high-profile influencer accused by Amenya of being paid to sanitize Adani Group’s operations in Kenya.
On Sunday, Amenya posted on his social media that the CEO of the marketing company in Kenya had revealed an elaborate strategy to market the Indian company in positive limelight in the next three months in an unconfirmed leaked company email.
“Leaked emails from the CEO reveal an elaborate strategy to sanitize Adani interests in Kenya for the next 3 months, he even goes ahead and says there are 4 more Adani projects in the pipeline (one of them is Mombasa port).”
He also claimed that he was aware of the company’s plans to produce a documentary about Adani.

“I learnt that they were sending a journalist to India to do a documentary on Adani but statehouse stopped it, this journalist interviewed me at some point too,” wrote Amenya.
Amenya rose to prominence after revealing details about the Adani-JKIA deal several months ago.
He has since made several shocking allegations, including accusing a prominent Kenya Kwanza politician of traveling to India to sweeten the deal and expedite the process.
On October 15, Amenya was barred from publishing content linking the politician to the deal until a defamation case he filed was heard.
