Ahmed, who was also the minority leader of the Wajir County Assembly, disappeared on September 13.
A search of the MCA had been ongoing for several weeks but in vain. Idris Bulle Mohamed, a politician, confirmed the MCA’s death and noted that Ahmed’s body had been given to the family.
Bulle expressed condolences to the family and clarified that Ahmed’s body had been identified by his family.

Ahmed’s missing finger has always made it easy for his family to identify him.
Aside from gouging out his eyes, the perpetrators allegedly burned his face to make it difficult for the family to identify him.
According to reports, the MCA was approached by armed individuals who kidnapped him in Nairobi on the fateful night of September 13 along the Enterprise Road on his way home from South C.
During the attack, the abductors took the taxi driver’s phone to avoid being traced.
Nonetheless, the driver later recovered the phone, assisting security agencies in determining what really happened.
After the abduction was revealed, Ahmed’s family went to court to seek orders to have the IG produce their kin dead or alive.

In the September case, the Inspector General (IG) of Police was listed as the first respondent, followed by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Three days after Ahmed’s abduction, Eldas Constituency Member of Parliament Adan Keynan announced in September that Ahmed was found unconscious in a hospital in Migori, which turned out to be false.
Previously, the High Court summoned Inspector General (IG) of Police Douglas Kanja to answer questions about Ahmed’s abduction and the missing MCA.
In his decision, Justice Alexander Muteti ordered IG Kanja to present Yussuf Ahmed in court, or else the IG would appear before Justice Muteti on Friday, September 27 to explain the MCA’s whereabouts.
