Irrate Residents Heckles Juja DCC While Reading Ruto’s Speech

During the 61st Mashujaa Day celebrations in Juja, patriotic citizens went wild and heckled President William Ruto’s speech.

Everything was going smoothly until the Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) stood up to read a speech from President William Ruto.

Juja DCC, who was tasked with delivering the speech on Tuesday, faced a hostile audience that began jeering as soon as he began reading the president’s speech.

Irate residents, young and old, heckled as the DCC took the stage to deliver the speech on behalf of the Head of State. Some attendees got up, ignored the speech, and walked around.

The noises grew into chants of “Ruto Must Go,” which drowned out the voice of the Deputy County Commissioner, who was attempting to control the situation with a public address system.

In a video posted on X, people spread out on a barely full football field, making noises and causing a commotion, forcing the official to stop delivering the speech.

People appear to be resorting to booing leaders representing the president at public events, which is a growing trend.

The widespread heckling against leaders comes in the wake of the impeachment of embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, as well as dissatisfaction with the country’s current trajectory.

Moses Kuria Booed

The booing at Juja occurred exactly one week after Moses Kuria, the president’s senior economic advisor, was heckled at an entertainment joint in Githurai 44.

The outspoken former CS was forced to cut his speech short after revellers booed him when he took the stage to address the crowd.

The enraged revelers continued to chant anti-President William Ruto slogans, seemingly in protest of the attempt to impeach Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Governor Kihika Heckled

The previous week, on Friday, October 11, Nakuru County Governor Susan Kihika faced a similar fate when she attempted to deliver President Ruto’s speech.
