Speaker Hospitalized Following Head-On Collision With Bus

Thaddeus Nyabaro, the interim speaker of the Nyamira County Assembly, avoided death after being involved in an accident on Sunday night on the Kisii-Nyamira route.

The acting speaker’s personal car collided with a Nyamira Express Bus at Nyakong’o, near Ikonge Centre.

After 11:00 p.m., the two automobiles crashed head-on, severely damaging the front of the speaker’s car.

Following the incident, Nyabaro, the representative of the Ekerenyo ward, was brought to the hospital with his personal driver for specialized care.

A person familiar with the situation verified that the acting speaker and his driver were in stable condition and recovering from the injuries sustained in the incident.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported, since no passengers on the bus were injured.

Authorities have since initiated an inquiry following the disaster to determine any additional information about the unfortunate event.
