Earlier, people had raised concerns about three missing cows, forcing the farmers to seek police assistance.
Following the disclosure, hundreds of citizens stormed the station and demanded justice.
The enraged throng reported that their animals were mysteriously disappearing and that efforts to apprehend the perpetrators had failed.
According to eyewitnesses, the carcass was discovered lying near the home of the Officer Commanding Kaptagat Police Station (OCS), which is located on the station grounds.
“We trust the police to safeguard our property, not to steal from us. If the police can do this, where else can we turn for justice?” one irate resident lamented.
Residents have recently complained about rampant cow theft, which has become a major issue in the area.
Locals believe that cops in the region have been murdering people’s animals at night inside the police station before selling the meat to nearby restaurants.
This episode has sparked widespread alarm among local communities and authorities because of the consequences for livestock security and community safety.
