President Ruto Mourns Death Of Former Minister
President William Ruto has mourned the loss of former Minister Nathan Munoko.
Ruto characterized him as a progressive and determined leader who reshaped the country’s political scene.
He prayed for strength and tranquility for his family and friends during this trying period.
“Our country has lost a selfless and dedicated leader who served with distinction,” Ruto said.
“Nathan Munoko one of Kenya’s pioneer politicians who worked as a Minister, Assistant Minister and MP was progressive, focused and a trendsetter. May God grant the family, their loved ones and the people of Bungoma County strength at this dark moment. Rest In Peace.”

Munoko served the country in various roles from the 1960s to the 1980s, beginning as the Member of Parliament for Bungoma Central.
He then became an Assistant Minister in Cabinet, holding numerous positions, including Assistant Minister for Cooperatives and Marketing in 1964.
In 1965, he was appointed Assistant Minister for Housing and Social Services, then Assistant Minister for Local Government in 1966, and finally Assistant Minister for Agriculture in 1974.

Munoko later served as Minister of Works from 1975 to 1979.
Munoko also held numerous positions in the Kanu Party, including national organizing secretary from 1966 to 1985 and National Executive Officer from 1985 to 1988.
Mzee Munoko, a one-time teacher, administrator, and veterinary officer, was born on May 20, 1922.
Kenyans joined the President in grief.
