Family In Agony After Kin Was Abducted By Unknown Gun Men In Uthiru
The family of social media star Peter Muteti has asked Kenyans to help them find their loved one, who was kidnapped on Saturday, December 21.
Muteti is said to have been kidnapped by unknown people who are thought to be security personnel after he allegedly posted a provocative image of President William Ruto on his X account.
The family members who spoke with the press stated that the influencer shared the controversial message on Thursday, December 19, before removing it hours later.
Just three days after publishing the photo, the social media influencer was allegedly kidnapped by four guys in a Toyota Prado in Uthiru, Nairobi, about 9 a.m.
According to Muteti’s family members, the social media star had received threats on his accounts and was being followed by unknown individuals.
They stated that on that fatal day, two armed men leaped out of a moving vehicle and bundled him into the automobile, which was already carrying two other men, before speeding away.
Muteti’s phone was off shortly after his alleged kidnapping, and he became inaccessible despite many attempts by his family to contact him.
“Yesterday he went for breakfast and he never came back, I went downstairs to check on him where residents told me he had been abducted,” narrated one of the family members.
“On Friday there were some suspicious men he saw which made him delete the post because he was filled with fear and had received threats,” he added.
Muteti’s family stated to journalists that despite attempts to seek police involvement, officers claimed to have no knowledge of the social media influencer’s whereabouts.
Meanwhile, investigators from Kabete Police Station have taken over the case and are working to discover the social media influencer.
The event comes amid concerns about the surge in cases of abduction across the country, which continue to occur despite the government’s defense of such cases.
