Suspected Occultic Killings Of 2 Women Discovered In Laikipia
Two bodies were discovered in a jungle in Umande, Laikipia County, in a suspected murder and suicide occurrence.
The victims appear to have gone from Nairobi to the area for the mission, and investigators believe occultism was one of the factors that drove their decision.
One of the women is suspected of killing the other before committing suicide.
Herders grazing animals in the Ngarendare forest discovered two female remains, one lying on the ground and the other hanging from a tree.
Police went to the scene, where one of the deceased held an identification card. The investigators also uncovered two notebooks, one with a suicide note and other religious teachings.
The team also found ATM cards, a pair of scissors, two matatu tickets from Nairobi to Nanyuki, a lot of keys, three school receipts, and two pairs of ladies’ open shoes.
Police believe religious influences contributed to the murder and suicide.
It is thought that one of the ladies murdered the person whose body was found on the ground with stab wounds before hanging herself.
The bodies were taken to the local mortuary for an autopsy and other procedures, including identification.
Police said they plan to contact the women’s families to see what led them to travel into the forest and die there.

In Karatina, Nyeri County, a four-year-old child drowned while playing in a river.
Police stated the girl’s mother was washing laundry on the banks of the Ragati River when the event occurred.
The mom said her daughter was playing there, but she subsequently went missing, only to discover she had drowned.
The body was recovered in the water and transported to the Karatina Level Four hospital mortuary for examination and additional police action. Police have stated that they are investigating the tragedy.
