Energy Ministry Allocates Ksh1.4 Billion Electricity Budget For Siaya County
The government, through the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, has earmarked more than Ksh 1.4 billion for electrification projects in Siaya County for the current fiscal year.
Energy Cabinet Secretary Opiyo Wandayi has stated that the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) has a budget of over Ksh.430 million, while Kenya Power has a budget of over Ksh.830 million for the growth of power connectivity in the region.

Wandayi spoke in Obambo Kadhai village, Alego Usonga constituency, where he launched an electrification project that will connect more than 100 families to the national grid.
He stated that Alego Usonga has been granted approximately Ksh. 100 million in the budget.

The CS reaffirmed President William Ruto’s commitment to delivering on his development program, saying that the government is spending extensively on infrastructure for power generation, transmission, and distribution throughout the country.
He has issued a harsh warning to staff at Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) and Kenya Power Company to guarantee effective service delivery or face the axe.
Alego Usonga flanked the CS. Member of Parliament Samuel Atandi conveyed his earnest appreciation to the administration for the proposed electrical projects in his constituency.
