Police Officer Killed After Merry-Making In Embu, Investigation Underway
Police in Embu County are looking into the strange death of an Administration Police (AP) officer whose body was discovered on the Manyatta-Kianjokoma route.
Embu North OCPD Benjamin Kiprono verified the event, naming the deceased as 35-year-old Collins Wafula, who worked at the Embu North Deputy County Commissioner (DCC) offices.
According to Kiprono, Wafula was last seen leaving the DCC offices after attending an end-of-year celebration.
He was apparently headed to Kianjokoma, where he subsequently joined a group for cocktails at Jambo Lodge. However, his subsequent movements remain uncertain.
The officer’s lifeless body was discovered early the next morning by a passerby in the Kavutiri neighborhood, who immediately contacted authorities.
“It is not yet clear whether this was a hit-and-run incident or if the officer was murdered elsewhere and his body dumped on the road,” said Kiprono.

This comes a day after a police officer opened fire inside a nightclub to protest a love triangle involving his lover.
Merrymakers at the Imperial Lounge in Yatta, Machakos County, had to flee for their lives after a police officer shot 30 rounds of ammunition from an AK-47 weapon in front of his superiors following a love disagreement in the early hours of Friday.
Prior to the event, the officer had been accused of causing significant disruption, forcing staff at the joint to report the situation to authorities.
The officer was then arrested by his colleagues and hauled back to Matuu police station, where he was detained for additional questioning.
