Activist Killed, Body Dumped Near Police Station As Residents Demand Justice
Residents of Elburgon town, Molo Constituency in Nakuru County, attacked Elburgon Police Station on Sunday in response to the death of activist Richard Otieno, also known as Molo President.
On Saturday night, Otieno was ambushed and slain by unknown assailants as he walked home, only 200 meters from Elburgon Police Station.
Angry citizens who disrupted commercial activities in the region on Sunday morning are demanding an explanation from police.
Otieno has been harshly critical of the government and area MP Kimani Kuria for failing to deliver on campaign pledges.
The dead, who ran for Elburgon MCA seat in 2022 but lost, was among those jailed during the Gen Z protests in Molo, for allegedly leading protests in the area.

His murder adds to a slew of inexplicable disappearances and deaths that have afflicted the country in recent months.
However, it is uncertain whether Otieno went missing before to his terrible death.

In a similar example, Ibrahim Hilal Mwiti, 24, an activist who had been missing in Nairobi since November of last year, was discovered dead in a mortuary in Thika just two weeks ago.
Mwiti had been missing for seven weeks until his body was discovered at the Thika Level Five Hospital.
According to his relatives, Mwiti worked as a delivery man and, like most Kenyan youths, was an enthusiastic social media user.
Currently, four more known young Kenyans are remained missing since December as the government continues the war on government’s online critics.
