‘Don’t Incite The Youths!’ – Ruto Hits Back At Uhuru Kenyatta After Recent Remarks

President William Ruto has urged political leaders to stop encouraging young Kenyans to violence and instead create better possibilities for them.

Speaking at a church service in Bungoma County on Sunday, President Ruto stated that those who incite young Kenyans to cause havoc are to blame for the country’s poor growth.

Ruto said they should instead urge students to take advantage of the chances offered by his government.

“These young people of Kenya don’t need violence, they don’t need confrontation,” said Ruto.

“They want opportunities, jobs to engage in business [and] that is what we should be doing as leaders instead of inciting them to violence, destruction and many things that will not solve their problem and the problem in the country.”

Ruto emphasized that he is committed to expanding job development and employment opportunities, encouraging young people to engage in existing programs.

“There are opportunities in labour migration, ICT hubs, housing, and agriculture. So plan yourself accordingly with these opportunities and your life will progress,” he noted.

The Head of State also disregarded criticism from his political adversary, claiming that he will now tire of working on modernizing the country.

“Do not worry about those hurling insults because they do not have an alternative plan. But Kenya will move forward. You can take that assurance from me,” he said.

This comes amid political tensions in the country, as Ruto has been chastised by his adversaries, including his former Deputy Rigathi Gachagua, for what they see as poor leadership.

Ruto has stated that his criticism would not deter him from ensuring that his legacy projects succeed.
