‘Wanjiku Is Our Priority!’ – Gachagua Says While Hosting Nakuru MCAs In Wamunyoro
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has continued to have political meetings in his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri county, most recently with Nakuru county MCAs.
Gachagua stated that the meeting is part of his ongoing commitment to listen to the people, “as they are the ultimate owners of the power as espoused by our constitution.”
“They appraised me on the socioeconomic matters of the county but more importantly on what Wanjiku is keen on being given priority,” Gachagua said.
The former DP described his meeting with the ward representatives as perfect since they are the leaders who spend the majority of their time with the public at the grassroots level.
I continue to listen to the people as they are the ultimate owners of the power as espoused by our constitution.

“Therefore, their voice is a true reflection of what the common wananchi stands for,” he said.
“I will continue engaging leaders from the grassroots to the national level to bring together a comprehensive report on the economic situation of the country and the way forward,” Gachagua said.
The ex-DP has been on public several times admitting that part of the reason he broke out with his boss, President William Ruto, leading to his impeachment on October 17, was because of his attitude to listen to the people.
Gachagua has recently withdrawn to his Wamunyoro home and used it as a command base as he prepares to fight his impeachment in court.
Following his dismissal, he began attending funerals and church functions to press his case to Kenyans.
A three-judge bench consisting of Justices Eric Ogola, Frida Mugambi, and Anthony Mrima extended the hearing date of over 30 petitions challenging his ouster until January 23.

Some political observers believe Gachagua’s decision to conduct his political activities from his rural house is a plan to avoid the government’s inquisitive eyes.
He has previously claimed, without proof, that he was being pursued by what he alleged to be state agents in unmarked vehicles.
On Monday, Gachagua met a group of Maa leaders from Kajiado and Narok counties.
