‘ARREST HIM!’ – Gov’t Told To Act on Pastor Ng’ang’a Over Rape Remarks
Activists from the Coalition Against Sexual Violence (CASV) have urged the government and key parties to take action against Pastor James Ng’ang’a over his recent comments.
On Sunday, January 19, the controversial Pastor came under criticism for mocking women and linking certain forms of women’s clothes and makeup to rape.
The founder of the Neno Evangelism Centre sparked outrage when he attacked women, accusing them of not being beautiful enough to attract rapists despite spending time on makeup and cosmetics.
“Women are getting raped and you couldn’t even get someone who could rape you. You are not beautiful, that’s why people are not even raping you,” said the pastor as quoted by the CASV.
His comments sparked outrage, shock, and debate among Kenyans and leaders, but nearly a week later, no action has been done against him.
CASV criticised the pastor’s remarks and urged the government to take action against him and anyone who advocate sexual violence against women.
“We call upon Apostle Ng’ang’a to issue a public apology and retract his harmful statement and the government and relevant authorities to take action against him and other individuals who incite violence through their platforms,” the statement read in part.

The group has also urged the religious community to hold leaders accountable and ensure that their sermons are consistent with human rights and social justice.

According to the campaigners, sexual violence is a horrible crime motivated by power, control, and a contempt for human dignity, rather than beauty and appeal.
The coalition has joined leaders and other activist organisations in criticising the pastor’s views as reprehensible and contrary to the values of dignity, respect, and justice.
On Monday, the Kenya Women’s Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) condemned the Pastor’s actions, calling them hurtful and inconsiderate.
Despite widespread calls for an apology, pastor Ng’ang’a had yet to issue any statements by the time this article was published.
