Governor Wanga Responds To Raila’s Assassination Attempt
Gladys Wanga, the chairman of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has marked a letter with her signature addressed to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) as fraudulent.
Wanga took to social media on Sunday, accompanying the bogus letter with a warning to Kenyans that read, “This is fake. “Beware of misinformation.”
In the bogus letter dated January 23, the party head reportedly requested DCI involvement in response to Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi’s remarks in a video clip on January 20.
“In this video, Hon. Sudi insinuates that the Former Deputy President, Rigathi Gachagua, allegedly discussed, during a meeting at Serena Hotel, a plan to ‘eliminate’ Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga as a means of ending the Maandamano protests,” part of the fake letter read.
“The gravity of these claims cannot be overstated. The suggestion that the Deputy President may have been involved in the orchestration of an assassination plot against a leading opposition figure is an extremely serious matter, not only threatening the safety of Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga but also undermining the very fabric of our democracy.”

As a result of these damaging remarks, the letter encouraged the DCI to initiate an investigation by summoning Sudi to headquarters to confirm their legality and obtain any relevant documentation.
Sudi’s video generated a variety of comments on social media, with his most damaging claim being that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua proposed a ‘dangerous’ plan to terminate the opposition maandamanos in 2023.
Sudi took to social media after Gachagua expressed his belief that President William Ruto preapproved all speeches made by his allies, and he recorded an impassioned attack on the former deputy president.
He accused Gachagua of lying in order to obtain sympathy and support from Kenyans following his impeachment.
The legislator said that the President had prevented him from carrying out various plots to silence heavyweights like then-opposition leader Raila Odinga.
“You know what you wanted to do during the opposition protest. If we were not clever and stopped you we would not have a country right now,” Sudi claimed.
“You know what you were pushing for in Serena. Please stay at home. That’s where you are supposed to be because you are a very dangerous man.”
He also mentioned former President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’i, as among those Gachagua reportedly targeted.

“My brothers from the Mountain, I want to tell you that this man is a big liar. If we had allowed him, he would have done much worse,” Sudi alleged.
“He wanted to hurt the Uhuru family, the Matiang’i family, and all the PSs who were giving us trouble.”
“Who planned the theft of Uhuru’s sheep? Who sent goons to Uhuru’s son’s gate?” posed Sudi.
“You planned all those incidents yet today you are speaking as if you are a clean man. You are a big liar. You know what you did in the short time you were in office.”
