HORROR: 3-Year-Old’s Body Found Molested, Clobbered To Death In Murang’a
A three-year-old girl who went missing last Sunday and was discovered dead in a wetland near Maragua on Monday was sexually molested before being clobbered to death.
A post-mortem done at Murang’a County Mortuary on Thursday confirmed that the girl, Eliza Wamaitha, had incurred damage to her external genitalia.
The youngster went missing at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday while playing with her friends outside her mother’s rented building in Maragua.
After desperately searching for her all night, her mother Florence Wanjiku received word that a child’s body had been discovered on the banks of the Githanja River, some 400 metres from her home.

Her mother, Florence Wanjiku, says she last saw her daughter on February 9 at 4 PM before the tragic discovery.

When the distressed mother arrived at the scene, she discovered her daughter had been left in a marsh, her corpse partially dressed.
“She had her sweater and skirt on, but her underwear and stockings that she had were missing,” she said.
Wanjiku also stated that her legs and arms had been broken and that her genitals were bleeding.
The postmortem also found that the girl had a subdural haematoma, a dangerous condition induced by a head injury in which blood pools between the brain and skull.
As a result, blunt force trauma was determined as the cause of her death, and a sample of her private parts was collected for DNA analysis.
She said she had no suspicions about who committed the horrible act that shook her neighborhood, with neighbors, including vendors and boda boda riders, demanding immediate action from the police.
Residents said Maragua has been dealing with insecurity and urged the police to increase patrols.

Benjamin Kimwele, the county police commander, stated that they are following up on the situation and are confident that perpetrators will be captured shortly.
“Some people close to the family visited my office to discuss the issue, and I assured them that we will do everything we can to establish the person behind the crime.”.
Kimwele urged members of the community to contribute information on the subject, claiming that the area is experiencing an increase in idleness.
“The postmortem revealed that the girl was murdered, and there was also interference with her genitals, but it was not defilement that killed her. We have some leads and may arrest somebody,” Kimwele said.
