Sudan Responds To Kenya For Hosting RSF In Nairobi

Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denounced President William Ruto’s government for hosting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a rebel organization fighting the Sudanese army for control of the country.

On Tuesday, February 18, RSF conducted an event in Nairobi to set the groundwork for the development of an alliance of political and armed forces to increase RSF’s domination in Sudan.

According to reports, a treaty would be completed within the next three days, allowing RSF to form its own government and administer specific portions of Sudan.

However, the conference conducted in Nairobi did not augur well for the Sudan government, with the country’s foreign minister alleging the event contradicted Kenya’s commitment to ending violence in Sudan.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs regrets the Kenyan government’s disregard for its obligations under international law by hosting the event of signing a so-called ‘political agreement’ between the terrorist Janjaweed militia responsible for ongoing acts of genocide in Sudan,” read part of the statement by Sudan Foreign Affairs minister.

The minister also accused Kenya of inciting discord across the continent by openly interfering in the internal affairs of several African governments.

According to the foreign minister, the primary goal of yesterday’s meeting was to establish a parallel administration in some sections of Sudan’s land and overthrow the existing state.

Furthermore, Kenya’s decision to allow RSF on its territory constituted a clear violation of the United Nations Charter, the African Union’s Constitutive Act, and established principles of the modern international order.

“Given that the stated objective of this agreement is to establish a parallel government on part of Sudanese territory, this move promotes the dismembering of African states, violates their sovereignty, and interferes in their internal affairs,” the minister claimed.

“Hosting leaders of the terrorist RSF militia and allowing them to conduct political and propaganda activities while they continue to perpetrate genocide, massacre civilians on an ethnic basis, attack IDP camps, and commit acts of rape constitutes an endorsement of and complicity in these heinous crimes.”

Meanwhile, the RSF conference in Kenya’s capital was allegedly postponed yesterday but is expected to be place over the next two days.

During which the signing of the Charter for Government of Peace and Unity agreement will be signed.

The conference was attended by Abdulrahim Hamdan, the sanctioned RSF deputy commander and brother of RSF commander General Mohamed Hamdan.

The action has created a new diplomatic spat, with numerous political parties accusing Ruto’s administration of mishandling the situation in Sudan.
