‘My Deputy Party Leader Will Be a Gen Z!’ – Gachagua Announces
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has stated that when his party is launched, its deputy leader will be a member of Generation Z.
Speaking at a media roundtable with Kamba-speaking radio stations on Wednesday, Gachagua stated that his party will heavily involve young people.
He stated that it is important to begin informing these youth that they are the leaders of tomorrow because they are the leaders of today.
The former DP stated that his expertise, together with Gen Z’s knowledge and innovation, will provide an excellent foundation for the country’s leadership.

“My party will involve them (Gen Z) to a very large extent at the position of deputy party leader,” Gachagua said.
“I’m the party leader, my deputy will be a Gen Z so that we involve them. We don’t just tell them they are the leaders of tomorrow. They are the leaders of today.”
He added: “I want to also mentor them, I have the experience, they have the knowledge and creativity, this coupled with my exposure we should have a very good combination.”
He went on to explain that young people believe in him because he stood up for them when it was most important.
The former DP was referring to the anti-government Generation Z demonstrations.
Gachagua stressed that Gen Z understands he is a truthful man who paid a high price for siding with them in the aftermath of the demonstration.

“The day it mattered most, I spoke for them, I stood for them. I am on record. I am not speaking for Gen Z because I left office,” he said.
“I spoke when I was in office and they believe in me, I have many supporters among the young people because they know I’m truthful and genuine.”
