‘He Has A beef With President Ruto!’ – Kimani Ichung’wah Says Of CS Muturi
Kimani Ichung’wah, a Kikuyu Constituency Member of Parliament (MP), has once again strongly condemned Public Service Cabinet Secretary (CS) Justin Muturi for remarks about his son’s abduction.
In an interview with Aljazeera’s Mehdi Hasan on Thursday, Ichung’wah alleged Muturi has personal issues with President William Ruto.
The National Assembly Majority Leader accused the former Attorney General of politicizing a severe and unfortunate circumstance, claiming Muturi lied about his son’s abduction.
According to Ichung’wah, Public Service CS remarks are politically driven rather than fact-based.
“Justin Muturi the former Attorney General and the current minister for public service is a politician, to begin with, has beef with his boss in the government that he services,” he said.

“The minister (Muturi) has a reason to lie, It is all politics, he is playing politics with a very unfortunate incident.”
Ichung’wah further noted that Muturi is most likely aware of his impending exit from the Cabinet, which is why he is targeting the very administration he represents.
In addition, Ichung’wah claimed that Muturi’s charges are currently being investigated.
He also mentioned Muturi’s resignation as Attorney General during the June 2024 demonstrations, implying that there were specific grounds for his ouster.
“There are reasons why Justin Muturi was removed as Attorney General around the time of the demonstration in June last year,” he added.
“There are reasons probably Justin Muturi knows is probably on his way out it is he who has made those allegations that is a matter that is under active investigation.”
Muturi told the press on Sunday, January 12, 2025, that his kid is one of the victims of abduction.

“My son was abducted and disappeared. I was not sure whether he was alive or dead making us anxious and leaving me and my wife and the rest of the family in turmoil,” Muturi stated.
“At that time I was the attorney general of Kenya and a member of the National Security Council. Despite making several requests, I was unable to trace my son.”
“Now, more than six months after the ordeal and his release by unknown forces, he has not been charged with any offence and the government at all levers has not been able to give me reasons for his abduction.”

Muturi further revealed that after several unsuccessful attempts to locate his son, he elevated the situation to President William Ruto.
The President then contacted National Intelligence Service Director Noordin Haji, who confirmed Leslie was in custody. Leslie was released shortly after the intervention.
“I heard the President ask Noordin Haji if he was holding my son, Noordin confirmed that indeed he was holding my son,” Muturi said.
“The President instructed him to release Leslie immediately. Noordin responded that Leslie would be released within an hour.”
