‘Uganda’s Military Ready To Join Kenya-Led Haiti Mission!’ – Museveni’s Son Muhoozi

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has stated his country’s willingness to join Kenya’s Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission in Haiti.

Muhoozi is President Yoweri Museveni’s son and head of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).

Muhoozi wrote on X on Saturday that Uganda had received numerous requests to join the Haiti mission.

However, he made it plain that Uganda’s participation would be predicated on a formal request from either the UN or the US.

“I have received many appeals from our brothers and sisters in Haiti. I want them all to know that we love them very much,” Muhoozi wrote.

“UPDF is ready to deploy there, let the UN or US make a formal invitation to us. We will be there and we will finish all the problems in Haiti.”

Muhoozi went on to claim that if the UPDF joined the MSS mission, it would quickly remove Haitian gangs.

“Within a month we would have eliminated all criminals in Haiti!” he wrote.

In another tweet, Muhoozi confidently stated that Haitian gang leader Jimmy Chérizier, also known as Barbecue, will surrender within 24 hours of UPDF deployment to the volatile Caribbean island nation.

“Barbecue will have to surrender to us within 24 hours if he doesn’t want Kandoya!” he wrote.

Muhoozi’s words come only days after Kenya lost its first police officer during the Haiti mission.

On February 23, the officer, whose identity has not been released, was injured during a security operation in Ségur-Savien, Artibonite district.

He was taken to Aspen Level 2 Hospital for treatment but died from his injuries.

Kipchumba Murkomen, Interior Cabinet Secretary, expressed deep grief for the officer’s death in a statement posted on his X account on Monday, February 24.

“The officer passed on in hospital from injuries he sustained while on a security operation on 23rd February 2025. My deepest sympathies go to his family, friends and colleagues.”
