AWARDS: Ida Odinga Feted With Lifetime Achievement Award

Ida Odinga has received a lifetime achievement award from the Human Achievers Foundation (HAF), which encourages women’s roles in society.

The wife of the former prime minister. Raila Odinga acknowledged her conferment on Tuesday, March 4, on Facebook.

The organization presents the award annually to recognize and commemorate those who have provided remarkable and extraordinary contributions to mankind around the world.

“I’m honoured to receive the “Pride of Kenya” award from the Human Achievers Foundation (H.A.F) for my contributions to education, especially girls’ education,” Ida said.

“H.A.F, led by Dr. Senorita Isaac, focuses on women’s empowerment, children’s welfare, and healthcare.”

Ida was honored for her extensive contributions to girls’ education, including the sponsorship of student activities, the construction of schools, and the establishment of other learning resource centers.

“They recognized my work in sponsoring students, building schools, and establishing the Dr. Ida Odinga Library & Resource Centre,” she revealed.

In accordance with her award, the Human Achievers Foundation will collaborate with Homa Bay County to empower women and promote children’s education.

The cooperation will focus on many aspects of women’s empowerment programs as well as increasing children’s education in the region.

As a former teacher, Ida’s lifetime enthusiasm for education has put her at the forefront of advocating for the girl child’s future, agitating for women’s rights, and mentoring them into leadership positions.

She helped build a dining hall complex at Dr. Ida Girls Secondary School in Asango, Ugunja, Siaya County.

As a former student at the girls’ school in Homabay County, Ida contributed to the establishment of the Dr. Ida Odinga Library & Resource Centre.

The Human Achievers, led by Senorita Isaac as chairman, is a social group that advocates for social concerns all over the world, with an emphasis on impoverished, illiterate women and sexually abused children.

Busia Woman representative Catherine Omanyo took to Facebook to celebrate Ida’s award.

“Congratulations Dr. Ida Odinga on this well-deserved international honor. Your lifelong dedication to education and empowering young girls has transformed countless lives,” Omanyo’s congratulatory message read.

“Being named ‘Pride of Kenya’ by the Human Achievers Foundation is a true testament to your impact. Keep inspiring us.”
