The news of the opportunities comes as the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) unveils its 2023-2027 Strategic Plan, which calls for the recruitment of 211,870 teachers over five years.
Last month, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba declared that university admissions for September would begin in March 2025.
In a press statement, Ogamba indicated that the site would be activated so that students could apply for their desired courses.
“In keeping with the annual placement calendar, the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) will open the placement portal for the September 2025 university intake in March 2025,” Ogamba announced.
In response to concerns regarding adjustments to university entrance cut-off scores, Ogamba stressed that the government has not reinstated university entry cut-off points.
The CS promised the public that all 246,391 students eligible for direct entry would be admitted to universities.

“The minimum admission requirement for university, which will apply to the 2024 KCSE cohort, is a mean grade of C+ (plus),” the CS added.
“Therefore, all 246,391 students who attained a mean grade of C+ (plus) and above qualify for university admission.”
Insisting, “The Ministry projects that if all 246,391 candidates join university, Ksh25.85 billion will be required to fund their education annually.
“The Ksh100 billion projection represents the total cost over a four-year period.”
