Cabinet Secretaries from several ministries have made changes to the leadership of numerous boards.

In an official communication dated Friday, March 7, Treasury CS John Mbadi canceled Stephen Ogenga’s nomination as a member of the Kenya Accountants and Secretaries Examination Board.

Although the CS did not identify the basis for the revocation, Ogenga had already been on the board for more than three years.

In the same breath, the Secretary of State reappointed Mercy Kiana to the Insurance Regulatory Authority’s Board of Directors. Kiana has been appointed to the position for the next three years, beginning March 7.

Other Cabinet Secretaries who have made changes include Energy and Petroleum CS Opiyo Wandayi, who named Martha Wanjiru Miano to the Board of Directors of Kenya Pipeline Company Limited.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 6(1)(e) of the State Corporations Act, as read together with Section 51(1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum appoints Martha Wanjiru Miano to be a member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Pipeline Company Limited, for three years,” the notice read in part.

Miano was previously appointed to the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority board on January 31, 2025.
