Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Gideon Oyagi has cautioned that security personnel will be on high alert to prevent any potential disruptions.
“We are not going to condone any form of hooliganism, which is becoming a norm in this region where politicians are taking advantage of funerals to flex their political muscles,” the County Commissioner stated.
He suggested that no one should wear political party uniforms or engage in disruptive behavior.
“We will not allow people dressed in political party regalia to attend the event on that day,” Oyagi declared.
“Whether it is a shirt or a cap, it will not be permitted. I say this because the event is not a political gathering.”
Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya had previously warned that some politicians were organising individuals to incite trouble at the funeral.
He asked security services to take action against such efforts.

Natembeya emphasized that Chebukati’s burial will not be a fight for political dominance.
The warning came amid rumors on social media of potential chaos, with claims that hired goons, purportedly dispatched by unnamed politicians, were intending to boo their opponents.
