CS Muturi Responds To Gov’t-Sponsored Rumours Of Resignation

Cabinet Secretary for Public Service Justin Muturi has noticed a resignation letter circulating on social media that purports to be from him.

According to the reportedly signed letter, the CS was quitting owing to unforeseen issues in his ministry that prompted him to stand back.

“Serving in government has been a great honour, and I sincerely thank His Excellency President William Ruto for the opportunity to be part of his administration,” the fake letter read in part.

“However, due to unforeseen challenges in executing my role effectively, I feel it is in the best interest of all involved that I take a step back.”

However, while elaborating, the CS dismissed the letter, admitting that his previous stance of not resigning and continuing in his role was unchanged.

“I categorically state that this letter is fake and should be disregarded,” Muturi wrote on his official X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.

“I remain fully committed to serving the people of Kenya in my capacity as Cabinet Secretary, working to strengthen our public service and enhance human capital development.”

Muturi urged Kenyans to remain watchful and avoid consuming fake news on social media.

“Let us all be vigilant against misinformation intended to mislead the public,” Muturi advised.

During an interview with Citizen TV, the CS reiterated that he would not quit, despite the fact that a number of government figures had asked him to do so.

The CS allayed fears over his impending resignation following his alleged feud with his boss, President Ruto, claiming that there are no valid grounds for him to leave office.
