IEBC Selections Panel Shortlists 11 Candidates For Chairperson Position
Charles Nyachae, a former Judge of the East African Court, and Anne Amadi, the immediate past Chief Registrar of the Judiciary, are two of 11 candidates shortlisted to be the next chairwoman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.
According to a notification issued by the Selection Panel for the recruitment of nominees, oral interviews will begin on Monday, March 24, 2025, and conclude on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the College of Insurance in South C, Nairobi.
The initial group of applicants would comprise Nyachae, Amadi, Abdulqadir Lorot H. Ramadhan, and Edward Katama Ngeywa.
Their sessions are planned from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The second group of interviews will take place on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. They include: Erastus Edung Ethekon, Francis Kakai Kissinger, Jacob Ngwele Muvengei, and Joy Brenda Masinde-Mdivo.

On the final day, March 26, Lillian Wanjiku Manegene, Robert Akumu Asembo, and Saul Simiyu Wasilwa (Bungoma) would be interviewed.
According to the Selection Panel, interviews for the six open IEBC Member posts will begin on Thursday, March 27, 2025, and will continue until Thursday, April 24, 2025.
Nelson Makanda, chairperson of the Selection Panel, reiterated the panel’s commitment to a fair selection process.
“We will ensure that only the most qualified and competent individuals are shortlisted and appointed to steer the commission forward,” he said.
The Panel reminded all shortlisted candidates to bring their original national identification cards or passports, as well as the originals of their testimonials and certifications.

Candidates must also provide current and valid clearances from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the Higher Education Loans Board, the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission, and the Credit Reference Bureau.
Those who hold foreign degrees must seek verification from the Commission for University Education.
The memoranda must be filed under oath and delivered by registered mail, hand delivery at the 3rd Floor, County House Building, Parliament Road, or email as a PDF attachment to iebcselectionpanel2025@parliament.go.ke.
The deadline for memoranda submissions concerning the Chairperson job is March 19, 2025, by 5 pm (EAT), and those for Member seats must be received by March 26, 2025, at 5 pm.
