‘Shetani Na Watu Wake Wakasirike Tu!’ – Ruto Tells Critics, Vows To Build More Churches
President William Ruto has reaffirmed his resolve to continue financing the construction of churches throughout the country.
This, he stated, is notwithstanding the noises and complaints of his critics.
Ruto stated that while he continues to build inexpensive housing projects and classrooms, he will not stop building these precious locations “because this is the will of God.”
“Tutamuaibisha shetani. Shetani hawezi kutuzuia kujenga nchi yetu ama kujenga makanisa zetu,” he said.

Ruto said during a family church service at AIC, Jericho in Makadara, Nairobi, that construction “is part of me,” stressing that construction was also taking place at State House.
He assured people that he would help them complete the church.
He stated that his involvement in such church endeavors is consistent with his faith and hence does not require anyone’s permission.
“I am going to be a member of the construction committee of this church. I see there is still some work left. I am a member of AIC, and I know everything,” he said.

Ruto’s comment follows his recent offer of Sh20 million for the construction of the new Jesus Winner Ministry in Roysambu, which elicited mixed emotions.
The President also promised to mobilise his friends to contribute an additional Sh100 million for the church’s construction, which is expected to cost more than Sh1 billion.

Some of his political opponents questioned its provenance, and a group of young people threatened to occupy the church in protest, demanding that the money be returned.
Regarding the donation, the board emphasized that it was given in response to a request from Reverend Mwai, the church’s overseer.
“On the issue of His Excellency the President of Kenya, Hon. William Ruto’s donation to the church, we wish to clarify to the whole nation that he has been our faithful worshipper since 2009,” said Secretary-General Raphael Mwiti in a statement on behalf of the board.
“Hon. President Ruto pledged his support of Sh20 million upon request from our church’s general overseer, Rev. Edward Mwai.”
