UDA Official Among 2 Kenyan Politicians Killed In Road Crash In Uganda
Two Kenyan lawmakers died after their car was involved in an accident in Uganda.
According to accounts, the two were among four persons killed in an accident on the Moroto-Napak road near Tapaach.
The victims have since been identified as Philemon Lotudo, Elijah Lopuke, Jackson Kariwoi, and Ben Ikong.
Images from the crash show a terrible scene, with the black SUV carrying the lawmakers utterly wrecked.

According to additional sources, Kariwoi and Ikong died on the scene, while Lotudo died from his injuries while on his way to the hospital.
The other victim passed away while being treated.
Notably, one of the deceased ran for the Kapenguria MP seat in the 2022 elections, while the other sought the MCA position.
Lopuke was particularly on the rise in terms of political ambitions, having recently been elected UDA chairman of Alale Ward in West Pokot in May 2024.
West Pokot County Commissioner Khaliff Abdullahi verified the occurrence and stated that investigations were underway to ascertain the cause of the tragedy.
Another important information is that the two politicians were in a car belonging to the West Pokot County administration at the time of the accident.

Kenyan and Ugandan authorities worked together to manage the return of the deceased, who were later brought to Cherangany Mortuary in Kitale.
The deceased were members of a team following Pokot South MP David Pkosing on a cross-border trip to Kenya and Uganda.
Sook Ward MCA Martin Komongiro narrowly survived the collision and was taken to Eldoret for specialized care.
