Easy Coach Bus, Car Collide Leaving FIVE Dead At Kikopey, Gilgil
Several people have been killed following a head-on collision between a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) and a private car at the Kekopey area along the Gilgil-Nakuru highway.
The incident that happened on Sunday night involved an Easy Coach bus and a Toyota IST.
Police say the incident occurred at around 11 pm, when the bus travelling from Gilgil towards Nakuru collided with a private car, resulting in the fatal crash.
Preliminary reports indicate that five people died, leaving several others with injuries.
Those who died included four passengers in the private vehicle, which included two female adults and two juveniles who died at the scene.
The driver of the personal car later succumbed to injuries while receiving medication at the Gilgil hospital, bringing the total number of casualties to five.
Other passengers injured in the accident were rushed to the hospital and are receiving treatment.

Gilgil Sub-County Police Commander Winston Mwakio confirmed the accident, stating that police have commenced investigations to determine its cause.
The Kikopey area is becoming a hotspot for accidents following a series of deadly clashes reported in recent times.
In January, five people died on the spot after a 14-seater matatu and a trailer rammed into each other just three days into the new year.
Also in September 2025, 16 people died in the area after a 14-passenger matatu attempting to overtake collided head-on with a trailer at the Kariandusi area near Kikopey.
13 people died on the spot, and three others died in the hospital.
The latest incident adds to a worrying increase in road accidents, with the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) urged to enforce strict safety measures.
