A police officer assigned to State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed is claimed to have fatally shot a guy in Kawangware, Nairobi, on Sunday night after a dispute over a pool game.

The cop allegedly fired multiple shots at 35-year-old Amos Lagat, striking him in the stomach and chest at close range.

According to witnesses, the argument began after Lagat won a bet at a small pub in Amboseli.

According to witnesses, the cop became irritated after losing, and a confrontation occurred, resulting in the shooting.

It is stated that Lagat posed no threat when the officer opened fire.

However, the officer then reported to Muthangari Police Station that he had been accosted by three unidentified guys who attempted to steal his Ceska weapon.

He claimed he battled with one of them before retrieving his firearm and firing into the air as he escaped.

Police officers who arrived at the scene discovered that the officer had shot Lagat multiple times, contradicting his account.

Lagat was taken to Mary Immaculate Hospital but pronounced dead upon arrival.

His body was thereafter taken to Chiromo Mortuary for post-mortem testing.
