‘I Urge You To Forgive Me!’ – Gachagua Asks Kenyans While Criticizing Ruto

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has asked Kenyans to forgive him for supporting President William Ruto in the 2022 general election.

Addressing Kiserian citizens in Kajiado County on Thursday afternoon, Gachagua accused the Head of State of continually lying to Kenyans by making false promises.

According to the former DP, the President, like other Kenyans, misled him into supporting and voting for the current administration.

While criticizing the government, Gachagua threatened to rally all Kenyans’ support to remove President Ruto from his top government position.

“I urge you to forgive me. The guy also deceived me; he came as a Christian, with a Bible, only for me to realise he was a wolf clothed as a sheep,” Gachagua commented.

“He deceived us, and now the country is full of lies. He lied that he would give us money, yet he came back and took the little we had from us,” he added.

During the rally, Gachagua also declared that he would officially launch his political party in May.

He also stated that the party would be mostly led by persons chosen by Kenyans.

The former DP also stated that his political group would field candidates for all electoral positions, from president to Member of County Assembly (MCA).

“We have decided to form our political party, and the party would be led by people from Kajiado. The party would be announced in the fifth month of this year,” the former DP said.

“The party will front candidates in all the political seats, from the president, gubernatorial position, senator, Member of Parliament and the MCA,” he added.

Since his impeachment in October of last year, Gachagua has been a vocal critic of President Ruto’s administration.

He has accused Ruto of numerous wrongdoings, including failing to address crucial concerns impacting Kenyans.

However, his criticism of the administration has recently been fraught with conflict and instability.

The most recent incident occurred at the ACK Cathedral in Nyeri Town, where youths prevented the former DP from exiting the church premises.

In the incident that took place on Sunday, March 23, police officers were forced to intervene after goons gathered outside the church, waiting to confront the former DP.
