JUJA: Female Police Officer On Leave Found Dead, Investigation Launched

Police are probing the untimely death of a female cop, whose body was discovered within a chicken coop.

According to a police report filed under OB 60/27/03/2025, Vincent Mathenge, a resident of Jacaranda Court Estate in Juja Sub-County, heard screaming from his neighbor’s compound.

When he went to verify, he discovered that Susan Mangiso Sarioyo, an officer stationed in Kasarani Sub-County, had been found dead in the chicken coop within her complex by a neighbour.

The incident was reported to the police, and a team of policemen went to the scene.

They discovered that Sarioyo, who was on leave, collapsed and died inside a chicken coop on her premises.

Investigations into the cause of death were begun, and the body was transported to the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, and Research Hospital Funeral Home for autopsy.

In other events, a police officer stationed at Kamukunji Police Station nearly evaded death after a colleague attempted to shoot him during a tense altercation early Wednesday morning.

According to an incident report filed under OB No. 02/26/03/2025 at 0432 hours, Police Constable (PC) Piro Mwarsho was patrolling the Muthurwa neighborhood around 2:20 a.m. with colleagues PC Jin Ouma and PC Bernard Muroti, all from the Muthurwa Police Post.

Mwarsho momentarily excused himself to retrieve his phone, which he had left charging at a pub.

At the pub, he ran across PC Emmanuel Juma, who accused him of having an affair with his girlfriend.

The disagreement quickly escalated when Juma allegedly smacked Mwarsho multiple times before cocking his AK-47 rifle (Serial No. 14088219) and firing a single round.

The bullet just missed Mwarsho, piercing a metal wall and a tube grill. Mwarsho escaped unharmed and reported the incident to Kamukunji Police Station.

Police officers from Kamukunji responded to the area, however, the spent cartridge was not retrieved.

PC Juma fled the scene but subsequently surrendered and was taken into custody.

His rifle was secured as an exhibit, and investigations are ongoing. No injuries were reported in the incident.
