Following Lee Kinyanjui’s appointment as Cabinet Secretary for Trade, Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu certified leadership changes in the Ubuntu Peoples Forum (UPF), certifying his departure from the party’s leadership.

In an announcement published in the gazette notice, Nderitu accepted a leadership transition inside the UPF party, stating that Samuel Kinya Rukahu will now head the party into the 2027 elections.

Erick Mburu Murage will continue to serve as Deputy Party Leader in charge of Finance and National Coordination.

David Ngugi Mwaniki will continue to serve as National Vice-Chairperson – Operations, alongside Abdulahi Adan Mohammed and Murguya Wilson, both of whom will remain National Vice-Chairpersons.

Beatrice Nyawira Wambugu has been appointed as the next Secretary-General, succeeding Kinya, and will lead the party into the next round of national elections.

Peter Owour Onyango will succeed Janniffer Wambui Mwangi as Deputy Secretary General of the political organization.

Other changes within the party include the appointment of a National Organizing Secretary, Director of Elections, and other national representatives.

Nderitu asked anyone who had objections to the party amendments to contact the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties within seven days.

“Any person with written submissions concerning the intended change by the political party shall, within seven (7) days from the date of this publication, make their written submissions to the Registrar of Political Parties,” added part of the notice.
