Ruto-Raila Deal For 2027 Polls As Contradicting Statements Fill The Air
President William Ruto’s developing friendship with his old rival-turned-ally Raila Odinga may lead to Ruto running for office on an ODM ticket in the 2027 elections.
However, if the latest remarks by Kileleshwa MCA and ODM insider Robert Alai are to be believed.
Alai said on Sunday that Ruto should dissolve the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and have all of its members register as members of the opposition party.
According to the outspoken MCA, President Ruto must defend his position via his previous party, ODM.
”We will disband UDA and have all UDA members register as ODM members. President Ruto must defend his seat through ODM,” Alai maintained.
We will disband UDA and have all UDA members register as ODM members.

President Ruto must defend his seat through ODM.
The comments are expected to spark some political debate and discussion.
This is owing to contradictory assertions by insiders of the two political factions regarding their recently formed alliance for the next elections.
Raila, the ODM’s de facto head, has already stated that his party is not part of the government and will consider running a candidate in the 2027 elections.
Party hardliners, including party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and Siaya Governor James Orengo, have repeated his thoughts.
Ruto, on the other hand, has appeared to suggest that the new partnership will last beyond the 2027 elections.

On Saturday, Ruto appeared to correct Sifuna’s incessant attacks on the government, reminding him that he was a founding member of the party.
Ruto indicated, in a political joke, that they could easily regroup and discipline the SG if he would continue his criticisms of the government.
“Sifuna, when you speak about me, know that I am a founding member of ODM, so tread carefully,” Ruto stated.
“We are the ones who found this thing, so if you push too much, I will convene a founder members conference. If we convene, we can discipline you. So let’s tread carefully.”
