Kiambu Bishop Blocks Sudi, Sakaja From Addressing Church
On Sunday, April 13, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi received a hit.
This comes after a presiding bishop at a Githunguri church refused politicians the opportunity to address the audience amid the tense political situation.
Sudi was one of numerous political leaders who attended a fundraising event at a PCEA church in Githunguri to benefit a new church building.
While many expected political figures to address the audience, this was not the case.
The bishop made it plain that they would not be able to publicly announce how much money they had contributed to the church’s construction.

“As you have seen in the country in recent months, the PCEA church was in fact among the first to say that politicians should not speak at the pulpit,” the bishop said.

He went on to use the Kapseret lawmaker as an example of how politicians divert the congregation’s attention by changing agendas in church.
He added, “Why? Because politicians will bring other agendas. For example, if I bring out Sudi, he will speak on other issues, and the church sermon will be forgotten.”
The bishop again targeted Sudi, warning the lawmaker not to publicize his donation pledges.
