Malala Reveals Real Reason Behind His Dismissal From UDA

Cleophas Malala, a former Kakamega senator, has spoken out about his dismissal as Secretary General of the United Democratic Alliance.

Malala, while in an interview on Spice FM on Thursday morning, blamed his departure from party leadership on a misunderstanding with President William Ruto.

The former UDA principal revealed that his disagreement with the Head of State began when he refused to sign the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

During the interview, Malala stated that he declined to approve Gachagua’s impeachment because his firing would destabilise the Kenya Kwanza administration.

According to him, President Ruto even advocated making minor changes to the UDA’s top leadership by appointing two deputy party leaders as part of a larger plan to frustrate Gachagua.

He recalls warning President Ruto that choosing two deputy party leaders would weaken the party.

Malala explained that, despite his advice, Ruto remained steadfast.

“I advised the President, as Secretary General, that impeaching Rigathi would sink our ship and destabilise the government. He dismissed me as an enemy. I was then asked to sign the impeachment,” Malala claimed.

“They even proposed having two deputy party leaders to replace him seamlessly. I warned it would destabilise the party, but they were adamant. In the end, Malalah had to go,” he added.

Malala also mentioned being labeled a mole within the current regime because of his vehement opposition to the impeachment of the former DP.

In the interview, Malala also criticized Ruto for reportedly irritating Butere Girls High School students with their contentious Echoes of War stage show.

According to the former Senator, the president knew exactly what he was doing and that he was the one who gave the orders barring the students from performing at the national level.

“The president is boxing in the dark. He is a paranoid leader at the moment because he knows what he has done, what he is doing, and what he is planning to do,” the former UDA leader alleged.

He went on to add, “If you compare the statement he gave to the content of the Butere Girls’ play, there is no connection. There was no paedophile in the play, and there was no drug peddler.”
