Gachagua Goes After Mt Kenya ‘Traitor’ MPs, Senators
On Sunday, April 27, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua unleashed a scathing attack against Mount Kenya Members of Parliament and Senators.
Gachagua attacked people who had decided to work with Kenya’s Kwanza administration and President William Ruto.
Speaking in Nyandarua, Gachagua urged inhabitants of the central area to remember and vote for politicians who have remained faithful to the region in 2027.
In the same tone, he exhorted them to do the opposite, unseating those he referred to as mountain traitors.
In his emotional speech, the former DP praised Nyandarua County Assembly (MCA) members for purportedly refusing to be bought to snitch on the government, as had their Members of Parliament (MPs).
“I want to thank our MCAs from Nyandarua County, the Speaker and the Leader of Majority for bringing pride to the county because they refused to sell our community like the MPs who sold us for Ksh500,000,” Gachagua stated.

“For the ones who sold the community out over greed, when the time comes, you know what to do because all the problems we have are because of traitors like them.”
Gachagua went on to compare the situation to that of colonizers capturing the territory because of traitors who would spy on the Mau Mau for the white man.
He went on to say that because colonists were so hazardous, the Mau Mau would rather kill a traitor first.
As a result, he ordered regional voters to include such MPs in their plan to elect Ruto as a one-term president.
“All these plans that Ruto is putting in place to make us suffer, because he is not planning good things for us, are being strengthened by the people who spy on the region for him,” Gachagua claimed.

“So even as you say you do not like Ruto, your first job in 2027 should be to chase away all the traitors so that you can choose followers who will take care of our community.”
Since his impeachment in October 2024, the former second-in-command has been on a mission to criticize the current government, frequently denouncing his former boss and revealing deep intrigues within his rule.
Mount Kenya lawmakers who supported President William Ruto during the divorce have frequently been subjected to his tirades.
This derives from rumors that MPs and MCAs were paid Ksh500,000 and Ksh100,000, respectively, to back his impeachment.
