Politician Loses Daughter As Joho, Other Leaders Send Condolences
Ahmed Kolosh, a former Wajir West Member of Parliament, has joined the list of politicians who have lost children this year, following the loss of his daughter.
Following the announcement of the former MP’s death, Mining Cabinet Secretary Hassan Joho sent an official statement of condolences to the family.
“With a heart weighed down by sorrow, I extend my heartfelt condolences to my brother and friend, Hon. Ahmed Kolosh and his entire family, following the untimely death of his beloved daughter,” the CS wrote.
Joho shared his grief with the family, describing the death of a child as severe anguish piercing the heart.

“Losing a child is an unimaginable grief that pierces the soul, and there are no words that can truly ease the pain,” the CS continued.
“In this moment of profound sorrow, we can only pray that Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, envelops you with peace, grants you strength and comforts your hearts.”
Other officials, including the Council of Governors head, Ahmed Abdullahi, and North Eastern leaders, have joined the CS in expressing their condolences to the family.
“I extend my deepest and most sincere condolences to my brother, Hon. Ahmed Kolosh, his beloved wife, and the entire family on the heartbreaking loss of your daughter,” Abdullahi wrote.
“I convey deepest and heartfelt condolences to Hon. Ahmed Kolosh and his family following the profoundly saddening loss of their beloved daughter,” Eldas MP Adan Keynan wrote.

The exact cause of death has not yet been established.

Kolosh was first elected as Wajir West MP for the Jubilee Party in the 2017 general election.
However, after losing his seat in 2019, he turned to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and gained it back in a by-election.
Kolosh is the second lawmaker to lose a kid in two months, following Dagoretti MP Beatrice Elachi, who lost her son, Elvis Murakana Namenya, on March 25.
Murakana died while being treated in Nairobi Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for injuries sustained in a serious vehicle accident.
