Family, leaders, and friends of the late Kasipul MP, Ong’ondo on Wednesday, people gathered for a requiem liturgy in his memory.

The event took place at the Consolata Shrine in Westlands, Nairobi.

Were was praised as a family guy who devoted his life to the church and the people of Kasipul constituency.

The MP’s life was brutally cut short on Wednesday, April 30, when a lone shooter riding a motorcycle shot him outside the Nairobi Funeral Home in Nairobi.

During his burial service, his family and leaders urged for a prompt investigation into the murder.

Following the talks, Consolata Shrine Priest Father Deogracious Kibirangu, cut off Homa Bay MP Peter Kaluma, the MC, who was nearing the end of the list of speakers.

The priest confronted several of the visitors who were allegedly handing out money to people outside the church.

He claimed that the move generated pandemonium among the mourners and urged them to stop their behavior.

“Please, our dear visitors, don’t give money to anybody. Some people are giving money within, outside (and) causing chaos outside,” he said.

“I have been told that whoever is giving money out, please no, no giving money.”

His remark sparked a wave of laughter across the congregation.

Earlier, the priest called out a man who had won a hat in the cathedral and told him to leave.

“Just a moment, can that man with a hat go out. You knew you are not allowed in church with that, why did you enter with it? This is a church, it is not a market,” the priest said.
