KNEC Announces 2025 KCSE Assessor Vacancies In Key Subjects
The national examination authority has issued the call for assessors for this year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) oral and practical tests.
The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) published a notice on Tuesday, June 10, inviting secondary school teachers and college tutors to apply for opportunities in eight topics during a 50-day application window.
“The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) wishes to recruit secondary school teachers/ college tutors as assessors for KCSE oral and practical papers between 10th June and 30th July 2025,” KNEC stated.
“The selected professionals will be trained on the job during assessment of the 2025 KCSE examination papers,” they added.
Applicants can pursue careers in power mechanics, electricity, aviation technology, French oral, German oral, Arabic oral, Kenyan Sign Language, Signing Practical, and Music Practical.
KNEC elaborated on the application process that prospective applicants must follow to ensure a successful application.
To begin, applicants must apply through the official KNEC examiners’ portal and login using their KNEC Contracted Professional Portal (CP2) accounts.
“Those who have forgotten their CP2 passwords should click the Reset Password button and enter their mobile number in the format (2547********) and submit to get new passwords for logging into the portal,” KNEC stated.
Those without a CP2 account were encouraged to create new accounts and follow the steps to obtain new login credentials.
Upon successful login, applicants must fill and save their profile.
Following that, applicants were sent to the portal’s dashboard and instructed to click on the Apply for Assessor openings link.
After that, all stated vacancies would be made accessible for applicants to select from.
“The slots are limited and only qualified applicants who have presented all the required documents will be shortlisted for the exercise,” KNEC asserted.
At the same time, KNEC revealed eight standards that interested parties must meet if they are to be shortlisted.
To be considered for recruitment, an applicant must be a practicing teacher/tutor in the appropriate topics.

He or she must also be registered with or employed by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) or another recognized professional body.
In addition, interested candidates must hold a diploma (or higher) in Education or a similar field of expertise.
However, evaluators interested in aviation technology must hold a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.
Furthermore, candidates must have at least three years of teaching experience.
In addition, an interested candidate must not be under investigation or face any type of disciplinary action from their job.
