TSC Issues Warning To Aspiring Teachers On Recruitment Letters
The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has warned Kenyans about scammers promising employment letters in exchange for money.
On Sunday, July 20, the commission issued a series of X posts warning that fraudsters posing as commission workers were selling bogus letters and registration documents to aspiring instructors.
“We wish to alert all aspiring teachers and members of the public about the growing threat posed by conmen purporting to sell TSC employment letters and registration papers. Please be warned that these papers are FAKE,” one of the posts read.
“These individuals prey on your ambitions and exploit your trust, charging hefty sums for documents that hold no legitimacy.”

TSC also revealed that its recruiting was based on the values of integrity, fairness, transparency, and merit, and that it was only done through official means.
To avoid falling for these scams, TSC advised aspiring teachers to follow three guidelines, including never paying anyone for any claims of TSC employment.
TSC further asked trained teachers to always check information through the official website or offices and to promptly report any suspicious activity to law enforcement or TSC officials.
“We all have a role to play in safeguarding the credibility of our education system. Let’s honour the noble teaching profession,” the statement concluded.

This comes only days after TSC announced an automatic three-year promotion for all teachers across the country.
This step, which includes promoting instructors within common cadre grades, would eliminate competitive interviews.
The new policy will apply to certificate, diploma, and bachelor’s degree holders and will establish a systematic roadmap for advancement based on years of service and excellent teaching performance.
Teachers now in Grade C1 will move to Grade C2 after three years, while bachelor’s degree holders in Grade C2 will be promoted to Grade 3 after a similar time period.
