Prophet Owuor Breaks Silence On Claims Of The World Ending On August 2
The Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, led by prominent televangelist Prophet David Owuor, has distanced itself from predictions of the world’s end.
The church issued a strongly worded statement on August 1 dismissing widespread reports that the world would end on Saturday, August 2, as false and wicked.
According to the church, the charges that Owuor predicted the end of the world were designed to ruin not just the prophet’s reputation but also the church.
In a statement issued by Senior Archbishop Michael Nieswand, the church declared that the Bible is unambiguous on the end of the world and rejected the assertions.
The church went on to mention the Bible, specifically Matthew 24:36, which indicates that no one knows when the Messiah will return.
“We, the leadership and congregation of the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, strongly denounce the recent spread of false and misleading information about the world ending on August 2, 2025,” read part of the church’s statement.
“These claims are false, baseless, malicious, and intended to harm not only the reputation of the Prophet of the Lord, David Owuor, and the Ministry of Repentance and Holiness, but also the unity and testimony of our church,” the statement added.

Addressing the allegations, the church advised media outlets, bloggers, content providers, and social media users to desist from sharing or entertaining unconfirmed material.
“As believers, we are called to pursue truth, peace, and righteousness. Let us not be quick to spread gossip, but instead be diligent in prayer, discernment, and unity,” the church reiterated.

The doomsday reports, which began circulating on social media in late June of this year, elicited diverse reactions, with some internet users questioning the veracity of the allegations.
While a few people appeared to believe the prophecy, many ignored it as a rumour, requiring the church to openly address the issue.
Owuor is a well-known religious figure in the world, famous for his large rallies and all-white clothes.
Among his followers, he is viewed as a miracle worker and one who has had several encounters with the supernatural world.
