Gabriel Oguda Finally Appointed To Gov’t Commission

President William Ruto has named Gabriel Oguda, a journalist and social media commentator, to a five-member commission to supervise the implementation of the National Dialogue Commission (NADCO) report.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, August 6, President Ruto stated that Oguda and four other individuals will be charged with overseeing the implementation of the 10-Point Agenda agreed upon by President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

“Today, 6th August 2025, the Principals announce the formation of a five-member committee tasked with overseeing the implementation of the 10-Point Agenda,” the statement read.

The committee will be chaired by a former senator, with Fatuma Ibrahim, Kevin Kiarie, and political expert Javas Bigambo joining the five-person panel.

The five have been tasked with turning the political agreement into tangible national outcomes through broad-based consultation and engagement with stakeholders regarding the NADCO report.

Aside from the five-member committee, a joint secretariat, co-led by the Executive Secretaries of UDA and ODM, has been formed to provide technical and operational support to the committee.

The Orange Democratic Movement, led by Raila Odinga, also verified the appointments with a similar announcement, revealing that the committee’s work will begin immediately.

The committee is required to present bi-monthly progress reports to President Ruto and Raila Odinga, as well as quarterly briefings for the combined Kenya Kwanza-ODM Parliamentary Group.

The first meeting of the Parliamentary Group in question has been scheduled for Monday, August 18.

The committee’s work will then be consolidated into a single final report, which is intended to be made public on March 7, 2026, the one-year anniversary of the signing of the MoU between Ruto and Raila.

On the issue of funding, the committee will get financial support from both parties to guarantee that its purpose is carried out without bureaucratic delays.
